Henn Automotive opened its doors in January 1999. Since childhood, Mike Henn had dreamed of owning his own auto repair facility. His passion for cars and trucks developed into a business when he was only 25 years old. He and his wife Susan picked the location, constructed the building and started with a staff of just two technicians. Now, many years later, Henn Automotive has a full staff of ten technicians and a full time receptionist. Mike treats everyone with the utmost respect and repairs only what is necessary or requested by the customer. Everyone at Henn Automotive aims to make efficient repairs and get customers back on the road safely, which in the end saves the customer money.
When your car is in need of repair or maintenance, it is typically inconvenient. We at Henn Automotive strive to make the experience as trouble-free as possible. We aim to educate our customers on which repairs are necessary and on any potential problems that may arise with your vehicle.

Mike and Susan believe in giving back to the community, and with so many great non-profit organizations in the area, it isn’t difficult to do. Henn recognizes the value and importance of education and donates to several organizations, like Waxhaw Elementary, Cuthbertson, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts Pack 53, to name a few. The couple volunteer regularly at Union Academy Charter School in Monroe, where their two children attend. Mike assists with construction projects at UA and Susan is the Treasurer on the UA Foundation Board. In addition, she serves on the committee responsible for UA’s auction that raises over $250,000 for the school annually. Mike and Susan do it “for the kids” because they believe that kids are tomorrow’s leaders.
Meet Mike and Susan Henn
Mike is the President, Manager and Service Writer. Born in Atlanta and raised in New Jersey, Mike grew up watching and learning from his dad as they worked together on the family cars. At 17, he apprenticed at a Porsche Mercedes dealership where he worked his way up and eventually moved to Charlotte in 1997. After purchasing the land and building the shop – Mike opened Henn Automotive in January of 1999. Mike enjoys working on anything with an engine. There really isn’t much he won’t tackle, but he is especially happy fabricating and welding.
Susan is Vice President and handles (take out “all the”) marketing, accounting and human resources for the shop. Born and raised in New Jersey, Susan has a Marketing degree and worked as an Accounting Manager in New Jersey and Charlotte prior to opening Henn Automotive. She works at the shop every day and enjoys helping as a fundraising volunteer at Union Academy Charter School in Monroe where their kids attend.

Your first encounter at Henn Automotive will most likely be with our friendly and knowledgeable staff at the front desk. Henn Automotive stays very busy and this reliable group keeps everything organized to get you back on the road quickly!
Bobby is our Head Service Writer and has worked in auto repair for over 25 years. From his work as a technician in some of Charlotte’s best dealerships to owning his own repair shop, Bobby’s expertise is unmatched. He has been part of our staff since 2015. He will help diagnose your vehicle, give you a reasonable price and be with your through the entire repair process.
Taryn started with us in 2017 and is our detail oriented Office Manager. Her background is in bank management and her organization skills are amazing. She can schedule your appointment, handle invoicing, acquire repair estimates and keep you informed throughout the repair process.
Rochelle joined us in 2018 and assists Taryn in juggling customers, vendors and technicians to help get your car ready for the road! Rochelle has an extensive background in customer service and she is a always willing to help!
Lisa has been our part-time Administrative Assistant since 2013. As a passionate member of the equestrian community, Lisa provides us with insight on horse trailers and trucks. Lisa owns her own horsemanship business and fills in weekly to help the fast-paced front office run smoothly!
